That conversation takes center stage on Thursday, July 23, 2026, as Southern Illinois Now (SI Now) hosts the 4th Annual Economic Development Day at the ThrillHouse Family Entertainment & Event Center in Marion. The event brings together community leaders, business owners, economic development professionals, elected officials, educators, utility providers, and regional stakeholders for a day focused on collaboration, innovation, and regional pride.
This year's event reflects the exciting opportunities emerging across the region and the partnerships required to turn vision into reality. Attendees will gain valuable insight into the trends, projects, and initiatives helping position Southern Illinois for long-term success.
The day will feature networking opportunities, engaging presentations, and discussions focused on the opportunities and challenges shaping Southern Illinois. Attendees will hear from leaders across business, education, government, workforce development, and community organizations while gaining valuable insights into the region's future.
Interactive breakout sessions will allow participants to explore topics such as economic growth, workforce development, leadership, community development, infrastructure, and regional collaboration. The event concludes with a networking reception, providing an opportunity to build connections and continue conversations that move Southern Illinois forward.
