A Day in the Trades

Southwestern Illinois College Red Bud Campus

Students will travel with their schools/homeschool groups to visit one commercial and one residential site from 9-11AM, concluding at SWIC’s Belleville campus for lunch, a vendor fair and a panel discussion featuring local trade leaders and unions. Parents are welcome to attend alongside their students. Lunch is provided. Feel free to pack your own if desired.

Special Requirements:

Close-toed shoes are required.
No hoodies or stringed garments
Long pants (no shorts) are required.

Participants will be provided t-shirts (safety orange) in advance.

The John A. Logan College Career Readiness office hosts an annual career fair during each spring semester. This event is designed to benefit local, regional, and national employers who are interested in attracting a qualified work force. The job fair has proven to be the finest of its kind among colleges in southern Illinois because it attracts such a cross section of people searching for specific career opportunities. Although a primary objective is to assist John A. Logan graduates in their quest for permanent employment, we open our doors to the general population of Southern Illinois, especially the citizens within the John A. Logan College District.
